SAP has launched a new release of SAP Business ByDesign, its mid-market cloud ERP product, which leverages SAP HANA, mobile and cloud technology.
Among the enhancements in this version are a new country version for Japan; in-memory capabilities based on HANA, to allow transaction processing and analytics on a single platform; greater flexibility for product and service pricing, and expanded mobile capabilities, through the SAP Business in Focus mobile app, which enables users to analyse budget forecasts, visualise financial information, collaborate through an enterprise social network and get real-time insights from internal and external cloud applications.
The release comes less then two months after Dr Vishal Sikka was forced to refute claims the company was ceasing development on the product.
David Sweetman, senior director, global product marketing, SAP Business ByDesign, said, “We continue to honour our commitment to SAP Business ByDesign customers and leverage the strength of the SAP Cloud portfolio and SAP HANA to deliver innovations that help them run efficiently and effectively their entire business in the cloud. The new capabilities in the latest release help companies manage more data and transactions in more places with greater speed and simplicity.”
