Accenture and SAP are co-developing an intelligent digital defence solution, based on SAP S/4HANA, aimed at helping defence and security agencies to accelerate their digital transformation, harnessing simulation and analytics applications to increase operational efficiencies and speed responses in rapidly changing environments.

The SAP S/4HANA Defence and Security solution will provide military leaders with more data-driven insights to help them make faster, better decisions. Available in both on-premise and cloud deployments, the technology will extend the current capabilities of SAP software to provide enhanced analytics capabilities, improving access to digital applications for military personnel.

“The next-generation defence solution will take advantage of the technology capabilities of SAP S/4HANA and Accenture’s deep defence industry knowledge to help defence agencies build and deploy solutions more easily and cost-effectively and at the same time enable the digital transformation in defence,” said Isabella Groegor-Cechowicz, global general manager, public service industries, SAP.

Enhanced Internet of Things (IoT) integration will help defence agencies to adopt and interconnect new devices that can collect and exchange data and to increase data integration throughout the organisation, from personnel and supply chains to equipment maintenance, financials and real estate.

“This work will help clients derive the maximum benefit from their defence investments, delivering better outcomes faster in support of their mission,” said Ger Daly, senior managing director, global defence and public safety, Accenture.

“This solution gives defence agencies the capabilities to operate in challenging and fast-changing geo-political environments that require an intelligent platform with deployment agility, increased situational awareness and industry-specific capabilities,” said Antti Kolehmainen, managing director and global defence business service lead, Accenture.

Accenture and SAP are working with select defence customers to develop the new solution.
