Revelation Software Concepts (RSC) has announced it has joined BMC Software’s Technology Alliance Program (TAP), to finalise the integration of its flagship Rev-Trac change control product in support of SAP software solutions with BMC’s widely used Remedy IT Service Management Suite.
The integration is expected to be made available to customers in Q4 2011, but attendees at SAP TechEd in Las Vegas have had the opportunity to preview the features and functions of the integrated products.
“Our customers have been asking us to integrate Rev-Trac with their existing Application Lifecycle Management tool implementations, and BMC’s Remedy is the strong leader in the IT Service Management area,” said Rick Porter, vice president business development at Revelation Software Concepts. “Becoming a TAP member advances our strategic vision of providing Rev-Trac’s robust change control support for Remedy as a leading ALM tool widely used with SAP solution-based IT infrastructures.”
According to RSC, using Rev-Trac change control with existing ALM tools lowers costs, reduces risk and creates maximum visibility and ROI for existing systems.
In many cases a business loses efficiency if it must log onto the central infrastructure to approve BMC Remedy IT Service Management-related change requests.
With a supported integration between the two, they can pass needed changes directly to Rev-Trac from the BMC Remedy IT Service Management Suite and vice versa, delivering maximum flexibility and full visibility into the entire change process.
BMC customer Monash University has spoken in support of the integration.
“We use the BMC Remedy IT Service Management Suite heavily in our day-to-day operations, providing mission-critical services and managing operational change risk for the campuses supported from our Clayton facility,” said Wayne Mays, SAP team lead and application administration coordinator at Monash University.
“Automated change control is an essential element in our ability to provide the highest possible level of system reliability, change visibility, timely communications, and improved throughput of changes across our advanced SAP landscapes. A Remedy-Rev-Trac integration will assure we can provide accurate, real-time access and support to all Monash departments.”
