10
Seconds Software yesterday released the ExpressPR solution, which offers a
streamlined purchase approval process.
A
.NET application, ExpressPR is a web based application that sits outside the
local SAP instance.
As
a web based solution, ExpressPR can be accessed remotely using a smart phone or
similar web accessible device.
Jack
Cornford, Senior Architect at 10 Seconds Software said the solution makes the
purchasing process more streamlined and less complex.
“A lot of busy managers we talked to said purchase approvals became an administrative
pain because they had to stop what they were doing and launch SAP or because
they had to wait till they were back in the office to do so,” he said.
“In coming up with ExpressPR we were able to combine a deep knowledge of
the complexities of SAP purchasing with a simple intuitive user experience. It
monitors purchase requisitions and simply sends emails to the appropriate
manager seeking approval. Manager’s can then easily approve requisitions on any
web browser or iPhone, Blackberry or SmartPhone in just two clicks without
having to launch SAP,” Jack said.
Key
features include access by smart phones and other web-capable devices, the
ability to monitor multiple SAP release strategies, and no requirement for the
SAP Workflow module.

According
to 10 Seconds, the installation takes, well, little more than 10 seconds.
Because
the application uses standard SAP functionality, ExpressPR doesn’t need to be
configured to your system.
The
solution uses the SAP .NET Connector to communicate with SAP, which was
released by SAP to allow external programs to talk safely and securely.
"With an installation that takes minutes and no configuration
changes to your SAP R/3 system, ExpressPR radically streamlines the purchase
requisition approval process, delivering approval requests right into manager’s
laps,” Jack continued.
“This is an IT solution that avoids the over-use of IT,” he said.
